Peter Julian
Founder, Rock Shelter
What started as a summer job between school and athletics has quickly developed into a full time career.   Peter worked for a local well-known landscape architect, and after 15 years of service and the equivalent of a formal education in the field, Peter set off on his own to provide his costumers with a wider range of products and services than was currently offered by local firms.  His knowledge in the field, specifically with hardscaping, and his natural ability to manage people is reflected in the quality of every finished product he puts his name on.  Founded in 2004, Rock Shelter Landscape Design & Construction has come a long way in a short and economically challanging time to become one of the area’s premier firms.

Jason Wiggins
Owner, Rock Shelter
Since the young age of 13, Jason has been working on gardens. From 1986 to 1998 Jason learned under master gardener Christopher Williams on a private estate in Westchester, NY.  After the unfortunate passing of Christopher, his friend and mentor, Jason created GBJ and built the business until merging forces with Peter Julian & Rock Shelter in 2009.  He prides himself in creating and implementing designs that perfectly fit his clients’ tastes, needs and budgets.  He continues to study at the New York Botanical Garden to keep up with current garden and landscape trends. 

Lauren Julian
Horticulturist and Container Designer
Lauren has worked in the landscape business for 20 years.  She worked with Oehme Van Sweden, one of the largest and best-known landscape design companies in the United States, where she installed and implemented their container designs.  Lauren received her diploma from the School of Professional Horticulture at the New York Botanical Garden, and keeps her design and plant care skills fresh by reading, visiting other gardens and taking classes.

Renata Jelito
Landscape Designer and Gardener

Is a landscape designer and gardener with Rock Shelter.  She attended The New York Botanical Garden School of Horticulture and Landscape Design, and has designed and implemented projects for the NYC parks department, public grounds of Forest & Gardens in the Kew Gardens Cooperative, and is an expert in turning difficult environments into beautiful landscapes.  Her clients have included owners of many large estates in the New York metropolitan area.  She’s a member of APLD- the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, and the largest network of designers in the United States.
